The row over ethnicity and nationality continues. Kemi Badenoch, leader of His Majesty’s Opposition and leader of the Conservative and Unionist Party, claimed this week that her children are ‘English’. Fascinating, considering Kemi, whose real name is Olukemi Olufunto Adegoke Badenoch, is Nigerian, and her children's father is Scottish. Neither of them is English. So where do the children get their ethnicity from? Surely, they are mixed-race African and Scottish? This is not complicated. Why do politicians continue to play obtuse? It is almost as if they are attempting to whitewash the English ethnos.
